Mercedes-AMG E53 and AMG E63 S to be launched in India on 15 July

– Both the models will further expand the AMG product line in the country

– The cars will offer multiple drive modes and will get 4MATIC+ all-wheel-drive as standard



Mercedes-AMG, the performance division of the German luxury car manufacturer will launch the AMG E53 4MATIC+ and the AMG E63 S 4MATIC+ in India on 15 July, 2021. The two upcoming performance-focussed sedans are a part of the company’s plans to launch 15 new cars in the country in 2021. As part of the fresh update, both the models have received a set of cosmetic and feature upgrades.


Visually, the E53 4MATIC gets a restyled fascia featuring LED headlamps and AMG-specific grille with A-shaped contour featuring five vertical struts that reinforces the impression of width. The vehicle will be available in 19-inch and 20-inch light-alloy wheel options with a five-twin-spoke-design.
The 2021 AMG E63 S gets a fresh set of cosmetic updates in the form of a restyled front section in the form of a larger central cooling air inlet and AMG-specific radiator grille with twelve vertical louvres and a large central star. The vehicle will get 20-inch five-twin-spoke alloy wheels as standard and has been aerodynamically optimised, customers can also opt for 19-inch 10-spoke light-alloy-wheels.


Mechanically , the E53 will be powered by a 3.0-litre six-cylinder engine with an EQ boost starter and five DYNAMIC SELECT drive modes, such as – Slippery, Comfort, Sport, Sport+, and Individual. The AMG E63 S will be powered by a 4.0-litre V8 engine that generates 603bhp and 850Nm of torque. Both the models will offer AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel-drive unit as standard.

Hyundai Verna variants and features revised; to get Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
– Select variants of the Verna receive an update for wireless connectivity

– The S variant has been replaced by the S+ variant

The Hyundai Creta recently received an update to the feature list across the variant line-up, details of which are available here. Now, the model next-in-line to come equipped with a set of revisions is the Hyundai Verna.

According to a set of images leaked on the web, the Hyundai Verna will witness a revision in the form of a new variant, apart from the addition of a new feature on select variants. The Korean automobile brand will replace the S variant with a new S+ variant in the sedan’s variant range.

The S variant of the Hyundai Verna, which was available only in the 1.5-litre petrol MT guise, will soon be replaced by the S+ variant, which will also be offered in the 1.5-litre diesel MT guise. Additionally, the outgoing model, which was equipped with 15-inch steel wheels, will make way for 16-inch styled wheels in the new variant.

The feature update for the Hyundai Verna comes in the form of wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration in the touchscreen infotainment system. This feature though, will be limited to the S+ and SX variants of the model. There are no changes to the powertrain options and the Verna will continue to be offered with the same set of engines and transmissions.

Tata Nexon EV prices hiked by Rs 16,000

Tata Motors has discreetly hiked the prices of the Nexon EV by Rs 16,000. The e-SUV that currently tops the electric vehicle segment in India is offered in three trims – XM, XZ+, and XZ+ Lux. While the ex-showroom price of the base XM variant remains unchanged, the XZ+ and XZ+ Lux trims are now expensive by Rs 16,000. The XZ+ now costs Rs 15.56 lakh while the top-spec XZ+ Lux trim is available for Rs 16.56 lakh, all prices ex-showroom. The Nexon EV can also be purchased on subscription bases with monthly plans starting at Rs 29,500. To know more about it, click here.

The Tata Nexon dishes out 127bhp and 245Nm of torque from a 30.2 kWh lithium-ion and liquid-cooled battery pack with an ARAI-certified range of 312km. Currently, it rivals the MG ZS EV and Hyundai Kona Electric in the electric SUV segment and is the most affordable EV among the lot.
